Xiaomi Mi Note Pro Gets Unboxed In China, This Is The Company's Newest Flagship

Xiaomi has announced a ton of devices this year, including the company’s new Mi Note and Mi Note Pro flagships which were announced back in January. The Mi Note Pro is definitely the more powerful of the two, but both were marketed as flagships. That being said, the Mi Note has been available for purchase for quite some time in China, and the Mi Note Pro was released two days ago. The two devices are basically identical in terms of the design, but the Mi Note Pro features the gold trim around it in order to differentiate from its lower-specced brother.

Anyhow, the first unboxing of Xiaomi’s Mi Note handset are now live in China, and we’re going to share one of them with you. There are a number of Mi Note Pro images in the gallery down below, courtesy of Sina Technology. The source even compares the Mi Note Pro with the Mi Note in a number of images, so you’ll be able to see that these two handsets are completely identical, save for the gold frame the Mi Note Pro is sporting. The 3.5mm headphone jack is located on the top part of the device, and the charging port is on its bottom. You can also see that the handset features three capacitive buttons below the display: menu, home and back, respectively. This handset is made out of metal and plastic, it feels very premium in the hand.

The Mi Note Pro comes sporting a 5.7-inch QuadHD (2560 x 1440) Sharp / JDI ‘Sunlight’ display along with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB of non-expandable internal storage. The Mi Note Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor along with an Adreno 430 GPU for graphics rendering. The 13-megapixel OIS camera is located on the back of this handset and next to it you’ll find a dual-LED, dual tone flash. The 4-megapixel UltraPixel (2µm pixel size) camera is available on the front of this handset, and the 3,090mAh battery is also a part of this package (supports Quick Charge 2.0 feature). This is also a dual SIM device which offers category 9 4G LTE connectivity (up to 450mbps download speeds). The Mi Note Pro measures 155.1 x 77.6 x 7mm and weighs 161 grams. This handset costs RMB 2,999 ($483) in China and will be available for purchase starting May 12.
