Sony’s recent flagship launches are kind of confusing, and here’s why. The company has announced their Xperia Z4 flagship last month in Japan without, which actually surprised many people because very few news outlets knew that it was going to happen. The company has launched this handset in Japan, and plans to keep it a Japan exclusive. Not long after Xperia Z4’s announcement, rumors started coming in that the company plans to release a global version of their flagship in May, and that’s exactly what happened a couple of days ago.
This Japan-based tech giant has unveiled the global version of their Xperia Z4 flagship, and interestingly enough, they decided to call it the Xperia Z3+ despite the fact that’s the very same device they launched in Japan. This is not all that surprising considering that this handset is more of an iterative update to the Xperia Z3, than a completely new device. Still, it seems odd that the company decided to name two identical handsets differently, especially considering this is their flagship we’re talking about.
Either way, the Xperia Z3+ is now official, and first reports started coming in. It seems like the Xperia Z3+ has a much warmer and brighter screen than its predecessor. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll see the Xperia Z3’s display compared to the one on the Xperia Z3+, and it’s easy to notice that the Z3+ has a much warmer and brighter display. The first image (by Sony) shows a way warmer image on the Sony’s new flagship, than on its old one, while a second and third image show just how much brighter is the Xperia Z3+’s panel.
The Sony Xperia Z3+ sports a 5.2-inch fullHD display, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable internal storage. This handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor along with an Adreno 430 GPU for graphics. The 20.7-megapixel camera is located on the back of the device, and a 5.1-megapixel snapper is available on the front. Android 5.0 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with Sony’s custom UI on top of it. The Xperia Z3+ is IP6X and IPX5/IPX8 certified for water and dust resistance.
