Acer seems to be battling it out against Asus with their upcoming Chromebook. This time around, Acer’s upcoming Chromebook the C738T will feature a nice 360-degree display along with an Intel Braswell chip included inside. How this relates to Asus is that the new Chromebook could be more desirable compared to a similar device, the Asus Chromebook Flip. Nevertheless, this news comes from leaks that were brought out into light by German technology website winfuture.de. With that said, these details could possibly change when the official word comes available from Acer.
According to the reports made by winfuture.de, the Acer C738T will feature an 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 multitouch display. Thanks to the 360-degree hinge, the display is capable of flipping all the way to the back to feature more of a tablet type display. Most notably, the upcoming Acer C738T Chromebook will feature Intel Braswell Celeron N3150, a quad-core chip running 1.6GHz with boost speeds of up to 2.08GHz. With Intel Braswell, there should be some improvements within performance, battery life and graphics compared to some of the other Chromebooks released into the market.
Also packed inside of the Acer C728T Chromebook is 4GB of RAM, 16GB of eMMC storage, Bluetooth, WiFi and a 720p HD webcam. As for the ports, you’ll find that the Chromebook will include an HDMI output, SD card reader along with an USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 port. There seems to also be a nano-pressed aluminum cover. Additionally, if you’re looking for a Chromebook to use while on the go outdoors then you may want to note that this Chromebook will release with 3G and 4G enabled options.
Unfortunately, there are still no word or leaks out quite yet about the pricing or availability of the Acer C728T. It will certainly be interesting to see how well this particular Chromebook will fare on the market since it will be one of the very first Chromebooks to come packed with Intel Braswell inside.
