Android is a platform which sees a vast number of manufacturers swimming around in its sea of software, except for perhaps two of the most well-known brand names in mobile devices, Nokia and Blackberry. To be fair, Nokia has a couple of Android-powered handsets, and their recent Nokia N1 tablet runs Android as well. For the most part though they are absent as a player in the OEM list for devices which run on the platform. Blackberry on the other hand has no Android phones at all, despite the numerous rumors floating around that they may yet produce a smartphone which runs on the Android operating system.
Both brands have a stellar reputation for awesome quality handsets and are longstanding, offering phones for quite some time, of course Nokia has been around much longer than Blackberry. With both being popular brands and once being hailed as two of the top device manufacturers, the question becomes which brand would you rather see make Android phones? Would you rather see Nokia enter the Android platform proper with a phone that runs a stock version of the Android operating system or one just like what is seen on the Nokia N1 tablet? Or, would you rather Blackberry enter the space and bring their beloved security and software knowledge to the Android platform?
