Android 5.1.1 Update Rolls Out to Moto 360
The Moto 360 has been the darling of the Android Wear world for some time now, and while users have been impatiently waiting, it’s finally paying off. The Android 5.1.1 Update is rolling out to the Moto 360 as we speak, including all that WiFi and Emoji drawing goodness, all the info is here from Motorola.
Updates for Sony Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z4 Tablet Start Rolling
Both the Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z4 Tablet are finally hitting shelves and that means day one updates for those getting their hands on the new hardware. For both the single and dual SIM versions of the Xperia Z3+ there’s version 28.0.A.7.27 rolling out right about now. The same version is rolling out to the Xperia Z4 Tablet, and I confirm that it has hit the model on our desks right now.
T-Mobile Gifts Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge Users Android 5.1.1
Android 5.1.1 is only available on a handful of phones, and Samsung isn’t willing to let their flagships fall behind. For both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge on T-Mobile, the update to Android 5.1.1 is heading out. This isn’t so much a big update in terms of the Samsung apps and such, but under-the-hood there’s better security and things should be a bit quicker. More info can be found here.
OnePlus One Gets CM12 and Oxygen OS Updates With Touchscreen Fixes
The OnePlus One has suffered with some sort of touchscreen issues for quite some time now, but it looks like software has finally cracked it. Thankfully, it doesn’t matter if you’re using Cyanogen OS or Oxygen OS. The Cyanogen CM12S update can be downloaded here, and it’s about 566MB and will fix the touchscreen issues. Similarly, the Oxygen OS 1.01 apparently fixes this issue as well. Info on that update can be found here.
LG G2 Finally Gets Lollipop in India
The LG G2, the D802 version at least, is finally getting the update to Android 5.0.2. Sadly, LG’s software support continues to need improving, but at least it has gotten the update. You will need to use a Windows PC and the LG software to update your phone as well, which is a shame, but it’s better than not having the update.
HTC One Max Getting Lollipop in Europe
The HTC One Max is perhaps one of the least supported devices from HTC, and while it was sold in the US on a number of carriers, it was also sold in Europe and Asia as well. It looks like HTC is finally rolling out Lollipop to devices in Europe as well as parts of Asia. Better late than never we suppose.
AT&T Galaxy Tab S 8.4 Gets Lollipop
It’s always nice to get a Lollipop update, and on a tablet it perhaps makes a bigger difference, but either way owners of the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 on AT&T will be ready for users of Samsung’s Super AMOLED tablet. If you want to know more, you can go ahead and take a look at the changelog here.
