We announced almost a month ago that the LG G4 would be arriving in Canada on June 19 and that no official pricing was available. LG Canada just confirmed the date the other day, but we are still left without any pricing, as the carrier always determines that. Sources are saying that it will probably be about $200 on a two-year contract and $700 as an outright purchase. The announcement says it is going Rogers, Bell, TELUS, Vid©otron, and WIND Mobile with the only options in color being the “Metallic Grey” plastic version and the “Black” genuine leather variants – but a terrific bit of news is that BOTH backings will come with your single purchase! You will be able to interchange the backings for either a formal occasion (leather) or everyday usage.

While the LG G4 is an evolutionary device of its predecessor, LG made improvements in all of the right places. Looks-wise, LG added a slight curve to the device – not a LG G Flex 2 kind of curve – but just enough to make it a little more comfortable in your hand. They improved the backing with a ceramic coating, bettering the grip and threw in a genuine leather backing as well. LG greatly improved the rather dull display of the LG G3 and made improvements in an already great camera area. Our review on the LG G4 and found it to be an excellent overall device with possibly one of the best cameras on the smartphone market.
The LG G4 sports a 5.5-inch QHD LCD with their new Quantum display technology that LG claims allows for a 25-percent brighter display with a 50-percent increase in the contrast and 56-percent improvement to the color accuracy…and you can really see the improvement in its 538 pixels-per-inch (PPI) display. LG used a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor, 3 GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, supported by a microSD card slot for expansion. The main camera is 16MP with laser autofocus, OIS, dual-tone LED flash and a new wider aperture of f/1.8 to capture better lowlight pictures. The new and larger 8MP front-facing camera (FFC) also includes the f/1.8 lens for excellent selfies and video chatting. Power is provided by a removable 3000mAh battery.
