Chromebooks are great for the average persons everyday use, but they’re also great options for educational purposes and educational institutions who are interested in utilizing Chromebooks for the teaching process, and CTL is a company who is keen on providing the education sector with another option to suit those needs, as they have just launched their new NL6 model education Chromebook recently.
Since this is aimed at the education market, users looking for an ultra affordable or top tier Chromebook probably won’t want to be looking at this model as it sits some squarely in the middle based on specs and price range, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be able to perform. For the hardware, CTL has equipped the NL6 with an Intel Celeron N2940 processor, that’s a quad-core model CPU, and it has 4GB of RAM, and 11.6-inch screen and a battery that lasts up to 9.5 hours on a single charge, which could be perfect for students who need to trek around campus all day. It’s also been built ruggedly to withstand drops, and CTL has fitted it with a water-resistant keyboard so spills have less of a chance at damaging the electronics.
Thanks to the rugged setup, CTL boasts the ability to survive drops up to 5.5 feet, and the ports have also been reinforced to protect against damage. It also has a 180-degree hinge so you can tilt it back further than most other Chromebooks for a more angled viewing if need be, and it has a retractable handle for easier portability. As far as other hardware specs, like most other Chromebooks it carries 16GB of internal storage, and has a full HDMI port, and features one USB 3.0 port, one USB 2.0 port, and a 2-in-1 SD card reader. As for the cost, CTL has it set at $259.00, and it’s listed as being currently in stock so anyone that’s interested could pick it up as of now.
