Ah… Nokia, a name that pretty much everyone recognizes. This Finnish smartphone OEM was once the biggest cellphone manufacturer in the world. This company was well-known for the quality of the devices they were manufacturing, and some of their products like Nokia 3310 and 8210 are basically legendary today. Well, somewhere along the way Nokia lost it, they didn’t adapt to the smartphone game and made a number of mistakes, one of which was the exclusivity agreement with Microsoft. Nokia sold their Devices and Services business to Microsoft a while back, and many thought that the company is done for, but that was not the case.
Nokia has released their first Android-powered tablet (Nokia N1) last year, a really solid well-built offering by the company. This tablet was running Nokia’s Z launcher on top of Android, but aside from that, the company didn’t really include any bloatware on it. Unfortunately for many people who wanted to get their hands on this thing, the tablet is available only in China and a couple more Asian markets, though it was said that it will arrive in Europe at some point. This device was actually manufactured by Foxconn, and it seems like the two companies intend to partner up in the future as well, read on.
We’ve talked about Nokia’s return to the smartphone market quite recently, that report said that the company will release an Android-powered device next year. Well, according to a new report, Foxconn will be the manufacturer of choice this time around as well. The source claims that Nokia and Foxconn intend to partner up once again, and that the upcoming Android-powered Nokia smartphone will be manufactured by that Taiwanese company. The report also claims that the device will be available in China, India and Europe once announced, which are great news.
