Fans of the Hitman series have been getting some really phenomenal content from its creators Square Enix lately. Last year Android users were treated with their own version of the popular iOS game Hitman Go which turns the already strategic and stealthy gameplay up a notch and transforms it into a unique board game of sorts. Strategy gamers and puzzle gamers alike were thrilled with the combination of gameplay tactics found in Hitman Go and it went on to win a number of mobile game awards including our own game of the week award. Now Square Enix is launching a brand new game that we’ve seen teased last year from the Hitman universe.
Following in the footsteps of the wildly successful and very well received Hitman Sniper Challenge pre-order bonus for Hitman: Absolution is a brand new game focused on mobile gamers that want a similar sniping experience. Taking place in the world of Montenegro, Hitman: Sniper takes the art of sniping to new heights on mobile devices. You of course play as Agent 47, the ever-lovable hitman on a mission to assassinate as many high-ranking individuals as possible via over 150 contracts available in the game. Each level includes a main objective and plenty of secrets, some as subtle as knocking the 8-ball into the corner pocket when spying on a massive mansion full of people!
Over 13 different sniper rifles are available that range in power and ability, and players are encouraged to use their environments as much as possible to gain points and stay undetected as they snipe their way through the ranks. Full leaderboards are available for those looking to dominate their friends’ scores on both phones and tablets. Those familiar with the gameplay of the Hitman games will find themselves at home here as the gunplay is very similar to that of its bigger brother. Holding your breath of the key to getting a steady shot, and aiming and zooming with the touchscreen just feels natural. Hitman: Sniper is available for $4.99 from the Google Play Store, found at the link below. You can take a look at the images on the Google Play Store or just watch the teaser trailer below.
