HTC’s One M9 launch this year proves that the device series still has an air of premium build quality to it, but HTC has outdone themselves with an official 24-karat Gold edition of the 2015 flagship device. In case you’re wondering the device has no difference in specifications from the original One M9 which was debuted back during the Spring, however for users that have a taste for the finer things in life, I.E. expensive handsets with a cost based purely on their aesthetic appeal and build material, the Gold One M9 will surely display your affinity for precious metals.
According to the source the 24-karat gold phone was unveiled just this morning to commemorate the end of the UEFA Champions League season, and a handful of individuals who are attending the event will apparently be given the handset as a prize. There is no word on when or if HTC will be selling these particular models of the One M9, but should they put them up for purchase you’ll not only have to be quick about trying grab one as they’re a limited edition device (meaning there won’t be many of them manufactured) but it will also most likely cost quite a bit to get a hold of one.
If you’re OK with parting with a large sum of money to pick up a flagship device cased in 24-karat gold, save your cash and keep an eye on whether or not these devices will go on sale. HTC doesn’t explicitly mention that this version of the phone comes with same exact specs as the normal One M9, in fact they don’t really mention any details at all, but they also don’t highlight it having any hardware upgrades from the original One M9 either, so users shouldn’t expect to get anything like what might be found in the HTC One M9+ which is an Asia only device launch. If you don’t need the gold to go along with the new phone, you can grab the regular HTC One M9 at a modest price compared to whatever this model will cost, and you can get it through a number of retailers including Amazon.
