Lenovo has been somewhat quiet as far as smartphone launches go. The company has recently partnered up with Qihoo 360 and started backing the new ‘ZUK’ company, not to mention that they managed to reach a milestone as far as smartphone sales in India go, which also happened quite recently. Well, it seems like Lenovo intends to launch a new handset soon, the Vibe S1. I don’t know if you recall, but the device has leaked prior to the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, and has also been teased by the company last month.
Well, it seems like the Vibe S1 has been certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC) recently, read on. The Lenovo S1c50 model has popped up on TENAA, and revealed its design and specifications. According to the listing, the Vibe S1 will sport a 5-inch FullHD (1920 x 1080) display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of in-built storage (expandable up to 32GB via microSD card). This handset will be fueled by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz, which is almost certainly the MediaTek’s MT6752 64-bit octa-core processor. The 2,420mAh battery will also be a part of this package, and the device will ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop pre-installed with Lenovo’s Vibe UI installed on top of Google’s OS. The 13-megapixel snapper will be located on the back of this handset (LED flash included), while you’ll be able to find an 8-megapixel shooter on the phone’s front side. This handset will also offer dual SIM and 4G LTE (TD-LTE and FDD-LTE) connectivity. The Lenovo Vibe S1 will measure 143 x 70.8 x 7.85mm, and it will weight 130 grams, at least according to TENAA’s listing.
If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll notice 4 images showing off the Vibe S1. The device’s design is nothing to write home about though, it’s a typical Lenovo design by the looks of it, though we might be surprised once the device becomes official. There are three capacitive buttons located below the display, and we still don’t know which materials did Lenovo used to manufacture this thing, though you can be sure that plastic is at least part of the story.
