It may have been the best part of a year since Google made available Android 5.0 (Lollipop) and the manufacturer race to update began. However, that does not mean that the days are still not filled with Lollipop based update news. In fact, the last 24 hours has been somewhat manic with a number of updates coming through. Especially if you are a Motorola user of some sort. Motorola of course, were one of the first companies to make their intention to bring Lollipop to their devices as quickly as possible. Although, realizing that promise was initially harder than expected, if the last 24 hours are anything to go by, then Motorola now means business as the last day has seen them embark on a massive push to bring the next major(ish) android update, Android 5.1 to their devices.
Less than 24 hours ago, came the news that the DROID Turbo seems to have begun its soak test for Android 5.1. This was massive news for DROID Turbo owners, as the device had largely thought to have been left behind when it comes to Lollipop. Then this morning came the news that Motorola had also begun the official soak test for the Moto X (2nd Gen). At least, for the Verizon version of the Moto X. Well, the Motorola Android 5.1 update news is not stopping there either, as another announcement has now also come through in regards to the first generation Moto G.
According to David Schuster, who has been responsible for much of the Motorola news coming through of late, the Moto G (1st Gen) with 4G LTE is also starting its Android 5.1 soak testing today. The news came through on Schuster’s Google+ account, along with a link for the detailed changelog for the first-gen Moto G. Of course, much of the changelog is quite familiar now, as it is the standard Android 5.1 update. For those interested in reading the changelog in full, you can do so by clicking through the source link below. Otherwise, if you own a first gen Moto G LTE, then it looks like Android 5.1 update just took a massive step closer to reaching your device.
