The pinnacle for luxury and elegance – Vertu and Bentley share a passion for craftsmanship and technology. Established during Nokia’s halcyon days in 1998 and nested in the rolling hills of Hampshire, Vertu has never failed to satisfy its users with true grandeur. Like Apple’s luxury play with Apple Watch Edition, Vertu’s richness envelops around ‘the few’ and not everyone – reason being the cost of its products.
Vertu after rolling out success models like the Signature Cobra at £213,000 (~$310,000), Signature Diamond at £55,000 (~$83,000), and the Constellation model at £3,500, Vertu has now announced the second exclusive model with Bentley -inspired by the Bentley Mulsanne Speed. The company has made limited edition handsets in collaboration with Ferari, Bentley, Lapo Elkann and Ermenegildo Zegna.
The new model has the features of every Vertu’s flagship Signature. Its key pad contains nearly 5 carats of ruby bearings like all other Signature model. But what’s more? The carbonfibre pillow sharing the same weave as the car, a Beluga Black calf leather rear, using leather from the same tannery as the luxury automobile and the titanium Bentley Flying B logo to match the car has been adorned on the phone to give it the highest level of sophistication and style. Unlike the Aytax models, the phone is not a flip phone and has Bentley laced into the software, with exclusive wallpapers and start-up logo. With the leverage of choosing different leathers, precious gems and colors, Vertu offers full customization of the Signature to make it a unique experience for the customers so that they can have a completely bespoke handset.
The phone differs from the Vertu Quest and Vertu Ti, in that it is not a Smartphone. Though the functions merely stretch to calls and text messaging, the opulence and quality of the phone is what fills up for that. The keypad sits on ruby and is finished in sapphire crystal to give the most satisfying click experience.
The Vertu handsets are made in its factories in Church Crookham, England and sold through an emphasis on craftsmanship, style and service. This clearly justifies the price tag of Vertu products, this one being available at £14,500. The device, which is available for pre-order from June 25, 2015, is set to be showcased at Goodwood Festival of Speed and Concourse d’Elegance and launched on 18 September, 2015.
