Samsung is well-known for releasing quite a few devices per year, and even though the company cut back on the amount of different models they release, we’re still looking at a lot of Galaxy phones. That being said, Samsung has released quite a few devices this year, and the most notable ones are the company’s new flagships, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones. These are the premium offerings by this Korea-based tech giant, but not the only compelling devices they’ll release this year. Samsung has filed a trademark for three mid-range devices back in March, the Galaxy A6, Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A9. We’ve already seen some spec info when it comes to the Galaxy A8, and the first real life images now surfaced as well.
If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll notice quite a few hands-on images with the Galaxy A8. You’ll notice that this handset features a metal frame, which should give it a more premium feel in the hand. As far as general looks go, well, this handset definitely looks like a Galaxy smartphone. The physical home button / fingerprint scanner is present here, and located below the display itself. According to the previously-leaked info, the Galaxy A8 will feature a 5.7-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) Super AMOLED display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor will power this thing on along with an Adreno 405 GPU for graphics. The 16-megapixel camera will be located on the back of the Galaxy A8, and a 5-megapixel snapper will be available on its front side. This handset offers 4G LTE connectivity, and will ship with a 3,050mAh battery on the inside. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is also expected to ship out of the box with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top of Google’s operating system.
