Samsung Let's You Record Your Gameplay With A New App

There’s no reason to doubt that playing games in mobile devices has always been very important for the industry. Games are now visually stunning as processors got more powerful and support the newer enhanced graphics and with all the sensors integrated in the devices, gameplay has also been modified to so much more than just pressing a few buttons. With VR headsets this could be taken even further creating fantastic worlds right before our eyes and interact with the elements in new ways. Samsung has created an app to allow users record their gaming abilities and share them with others.

The app is called Game Recorder+ and interestingly, it is available on the Play Store and not on the company’s own Galaxy Apps, which might be the start of some proprietary apps migrating into Google’s store in order to install updates right from that space. That doesn’t mean that the app will be compatible with a lot of devices, not even from Samsung, only the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, Galaxy S5, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 4 are compatible and Android 4.1 is required.

To start recording a game, just launch the app and press the Record button at the bottom of the screen, run the game and while playing it, press the button to start recording the desired section and press again to stop recording, clips can be saved in Full HD resolution and editing afterwards before uploading to YouTube directly from the app. While recording, a circle will appear and by using the front-facing camera and the microphone, the users face will also be recorded so that a commentary might be added. This circle can be resized or a static picture from the library can be chosen. In case the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge users don’t want to make any comments, audio can be obtained directly from the source and keep the microphone off. There’s also a Game Boost feature that will optimize the device’s memory so that the performance doesn’t get affected. Samsung stated that all of the games from the Play Store and the Galaxy Apps can be recorded, but that doesn’t include apps other than games.
