Samsung have been riding high over the last few months on the back of the success of their two most recent flagship devices, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. That said, the last week or so has seen them run into a couple of software issues. The big one, which has been attracting all the headlines, relates to the pre-installed SwiftKey keyboard application on Samsung devices. It would seem that the app is open to attack from hackers, when it is updating its language packs. Although, there have not been any major accounts of devices being breached, the news caught momentum over the last couple of days and even only this morning, Samsung sent out an official response on the matter detailing they are working on a fix and the issue is limited in how users are affected.
The other software issue that the company has been dealing with over the last week is one which seems to affect the toggles and specifically on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. Although this issue is not as dangerous as the keyboard updating problem, for the users affected, this one is probably far more frustrating. For those that missed the earlier reports, it seems that after a recent update, Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge devices were losing their toggles in the quick settings menu. It was thought that toggles were effectively expiring if they were not used for a certain length of time. Some of the toggles being noted disappearing including the likes of Privacy and Mobile Data. As such, some users became quickly frustrated with the disappearing toggles and so much so, that an unofficial fix starting doing the rounds.
Well, this one now looks to be fixed fully for those that were encountering the problem. Samsung are reported to have today released an app to the Galaxy App Store entitled QuickPanel Restore. As the name suggests, the app allows you to quickly restore any of the toggles which have disappeared. If this sounds like something that would be good for you, then it should be noted that it seems that it is currently only working with the twin S6 devices. Although, Samsung are said to have advised other device compatibility will follow soon.
