Back in the day, if you wanted to enjoy some video games while on the go then that meant picking up a dedicated portable video game console. From Nintendo, Sega to even Sony, portable video game consoles were being released by manufacturers that allowed gamers to play some of the most popular video game franchises during those long trips away from home. However, as we move a few decades to present day, these dedicated portable video game consoles are on their way out. Sony’s latest PlayStation Vita is hardly showcased as of late and while Nintendo continues to push their latest 3DS iterations to the mass media, they’ve also revealed interest in developing video game applications. When it comes to portable gaming anymore, smartphones and tablets are your main sources. Samsung just happened to showcase their Galaxy S6 and the S6 edge as a premium smartphone choice for gaming in a new advertisement.
Even if you’re not the most hardcore gamer out there, gaming aspects for a smartphone or tablet should be a point to consider when making your next handset purchase. Samsung recently released a new advertisement that focuses on gaming for the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge. With their nice 1440 x 2560 resolution displays, visually gameplay will look quite nicely. However, there are some downfalls that Samsung obviously kept out of the advertisement. Neither of the devices will allow consumers to swap out the batteries which may be a concern for how much gameplay an individual can partake in during a single sitting. Additionally, consumers are unable to add any more storage to either of the devices.
Furthermore, it may be worth noting that Google’s Android operating system seems to fall short from Apple iOS in terms of receiving some of the more desirable video game releases. Most often, it would seem that Apple will get first serves or time exclusives while users with a Google Android OS device is often waiting for a release date at a later time. There are theories in why this may be the case. One of the more popular theories is that developers find it easier to release video games on iOS because of the limited smartphones available with the operating system whereas there are all sorts of different manufacturers releasing various Android-based smartphones into the market.
