We see teardowns all the time. Usually coming from the folks over at iFixit. However this time around, we have a tear down from Samsung. Samsung’s blog, Samsung Tomorrow, has torn down their newest flagship, the Galaxy S6 and posted the results on their site. You can see all the small parts that go into the Galaxy S6, including the fingerprint sensor, the mobile board which houses the processor and radio. As well as the casing that includes the speaker. You can check out the full teardown by heading to the source section down below. It’s amazing just how small some of these pieces are, especially mobile board which basically runs everything inside the phone.
Samsung’s Galaxy S6 isn’t as repairable as the Galaxy S5 was, but hopefully no one will have to get it repaired. Samsung has built a pretty sturdy phone here, that doesn’t bend. And yes that was a stab at Apple. While Samsung doesn’t offer any type of screen replacement like HTC, it is still pretty easy to get the display replaced.
So far, the Samsung Galaxy S6 has been selling pretty well for Samsung. When it was announced back in March, it got a lot of attention because Samsung finally listened to its critics about the build quality and materials being used. This year they went with glass and metal, similar to the Xperia lineup from Sony. One of my first worries was about the glass back. With some of the earlier Xperia Z models, the back would get scratched up pretty easily. But that appears to have changed now, and that’s not an issue with the Galaxy S6, at least in my time using the device.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 has a 5.1-inch 2560×1440 resolution Super AMOLED display, octa-core Exynos 7 processor, 3GB of RAM 32GB of storage without a microSD card slot, and a 16MP camera on the back. Which the camera, is probably one of the best out there. There’s also a 2550mAh battery inside that is not removable.
