Sony Xperia Z4v (Verizon Wireless) Specs

This morning, Sony and Verizon announced the Xperia Z4v that will be making its way to Big Red’s network later this summer. The specs are slightly changed from the Xperia Z4 and the Xperia Z3+ that were announced earlier this year. With the main changes being Qi Wireless charging, and QHD. But here are the complete specs for the Xperia Z4v.

The Xperia Z4v is running on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. It’s also sporting a 5.2-inch IPS 2560×1440 resolution sRGB 130& Triluminos display. It’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor (MSM8994), paired with 3GB of RAM. There’s also 32GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot on board. Sony has opted to keep the 20.7MP camera on the back, which has ISO up to 12800, and does do 4K video. The front-facing camera is a 5MP camera which is 25mm with steady shot.

Another feature that Sony has kept around for the next generation of the Xperia Z line is the front-facing speakers. We have front-facing stereo speakers here with ClearAudio+ and auto headset compensation. The front-facing speakers won’t be as good as HTC’s Boomsound, but they are much better than having rear-facing speakers.

As far as the dimensions go, it’s 144.4 x 72.3 x 8.6mm, and weighs in at about 160g. That’s 5.64 ounces for us Americans. There’s a 3,000mAh battery inside to keep you going all day long, paired with Sony’s Battery Stamina features. There’s also Qualcomm QuickCharge 2.0, as well as wireless charging for both PMA and Qi. Which is a nice change. Connectivity includes NFC and MHL. It also uses a nano SIM, as most phones do these days.

Verizon will only be offering the Xperia Z4v in black and white, similar to the Xperia Z3v last year. Unfortunately we won’t get all the other colors Sony typically launches, including copper and purple. Sony’s Xperia Z4v should be hitting Verizon shelves later this summer. Although a specific date still has not been announced, other than “later this summer”. So we’ll keep you up to date as to when it finally launches.
