Sony's Xperia M4 Aqua Hits Amazon For $349

In the scheme of things, Sony devices have never officially been very available here in North America, even with the Xperia Z3 which saw an official launch on T-Mobile’s network, and was available via the U.S. Sony Mobile store. This is an unfortunate thing for some U.S. consumers as Sony devices are typically some of the best handsets out there. While availability is a bit limited when it comes to Sony’s offerings, some of their devices end up making it to the states one way or another, and if it isn’t through official means like the Sony Store or through a carrier, it ends up being through third-party resellers on sites like Amazon.

The latest Sony device to hit the U.S. is the Xperia M4 Aqua, available now on Amazon for around $349.99, giving consumers a decent mid-range option. The Xperia M4 Aqua stays true to the design of recent Xperia handsets, and even carries plenty of the same characteristics commonly seen in Sony’s smartphones. Like the waterproofing, as the Xperia M4 Aqua comes with an IP68 rating just like a handful of Sony’s other phones and tablets. As for other specifications, the Xperia M4 Aqua carries 8GB of internal storage with expandable storage via microSD cards, a 5-inch display with 720p resolution, and a 2400mAh battery to keep it going.

It’s also powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 CPU with 2GB of RAM, and for the cameras it has a 5MP camera on the front for selfies and video chat, while the main camera on the back is 13MP with LED flash. The Xperia M4 Aqua is also running Android Lollipop out of the box so users who purchase the device get the most up to date software experience. Sony is officially launching the Xperia M4 Aqua in Canada sometime in the middle of this month, and it launched in India back at the end of May. So although this may not be an official U.S. launch, it still serves as means to order within the U.S. which is certainly better than not all.
