Looks like Thursday, we’ll be seeing what John Legere and company have planned for the next stage of the Uncarrier. They are calling it “Uncarrier Amped”, and have a short little teaser video on Twitter. Which doesn’t really tell us anything, other than recapping the first 9 Uncarrier moves, and telling us “We won’t stop”. As John posted on Twitter, “Our most famous #uncarrier moves, amped up!! How could they get any better? Stay tuned all summer – #UncarrierAmped starts 6.25.”
T-Mobile’s Uncarrier announcements have all been removing pain points that customers have with T-Mobile and other carriers. And it’s been working. T-Mobile has yet to have a quarter where they added less than a million customers since Uncarrier 1.0 started. That’s pretty amazing. Considering T-Mobile was losing nearly a million per quarter before that. So what is Uncarrier Amped? We have no clue, we haven’t even seen any leaks. But we know Legere’s team is working hard on putting the final touches on the announcement for Thursday.
Legere says that they are returning to some of their original Uncarrier moves this summer and making them even better? I’ve seen in Reddit a few times, in the speculation thread for Uncarrier 10, that we might see truly unlimited for all. That would be great, however, that would kill two of T-Mobile’s Uncarrier announcements. Music Freedom and Data Stash, as they aren’t needed on truly unlimited plans. Right now, your guess is as good as ours, when it comes to what Legere has up his sleeve. And it sounds like we’ll be seeing lots of these over the course of the summer, so watch out. It might be a magenta summer.
T-Mobile has been revolutionizing the wireless network since Legere took over. Changing the way Verizon, Sprint and AT&T all do business. And it shows that they are starting to get worried. As T-Mobile has virtually doubled its size since Legere took over, now part of that was due to buying MetroPCS, but still that’s an amazing feat. We’ll be keeping our eyes out to see what T-Mobile has planned for Thursday.
