Xiaomi is a very well-known company at this point, despite the fact it has been founded 5 years ago. Xiaomi is currently the number one smartphone manufacturer in China, which is quite a feat for the company. Anyhow, Xiaomi is a smartphone manufacturer before anything else, but this company actually dabbles in all sorts of tech. They’ve released smart TVs, smart scales, power banks… and there’s even some talk that Xiaomi plans to introduce an electric car in the future. That being said, the company has released some additional smart gadgets during their press event in China, let’s see what was announced.
Prior to the press conference, Xiaomi has released info regarding their new smart piece of technology, a smart air conditioner. This thing is already available in Green, Pink, Blue and White color options, and it actually looks like a regular air conditioning device. This thing has some special ‘smart’ options, of course. For example, if you own the Mi Band, the air conditioning unit will be able to detect when you enter or leave the room, and it will be able to turn off or turn on automatically. You’ll, of course, be able to control it via your smartphone as well. The Xiaomi air conditioner is priced at 3,099 Yuan ($499) in China.
Now, let’s talk a bit about the press conference Xiaomi has held today. The company has introduced the Mi Wi-Fi Router and Wi-Fi Amplifier. The Wi-Fi router give you the option of controlling it via your smartphone no matter where you are, and it improves 2.4G performance by 100%, and 5G performance by 30% according to Xiaomi. The Mi Wi-Fi Amplifier doubles wi-fi signal range without switching hotspots, you can just plug it in and it’s good to go. The Mi Wi-Fi router is priced at 699 Yuan (1TB) and 2,999 Yuan (6TB), which comes to $113 and $483, respectively.
And last, but not least, Xiaomi has unveiled the Yeelight Bedside Lamp. This is essentially a smart lamp which offers support for 16 million colors. You can, of course, control it via your smartphone (bluetooth connection), and it is priced at 249 Yuan ($40).
