We’ve seen quite a few smartwatches being launched in the last year or so, mainly thanks to the release of Google’s Android Wear operating system designed for such devices. A number of OEMs all over the world released Android Wear-powered units, Apple has announced the Apple Watch, and we’re also seeing quite a few smartwatches being launched with regular Android installed on top of them, not to mention Pebble which sports company’s custom UI. That being said another smartwatch is going to be launched soon by one of the China-based OEMs, read on.
Zopo is one of many Chinese smartphone manufacturers that you might have heard of. This company managed to get people’s attention last year when they announced the ZP999 ‘Lion Heart’ smartphone. Zopo has announced a new mid-range smartphone recently, called Zopo Color C, but we haven’t heard much from them this year though. Well, it seems like that’s about to change soon. Zopo’s official teaser has surfaced on social media, and definitely hints at the design of the watch. According to the provided image, Zopo’s smartwatch will sport a circular design, and it seems like it will resemble Motorola’s Moto 360 offering. This particular model will sport gold coloring it seems, though other color variants will almost certainly going to be available.
According to rumors, this smartwatch will be called ‘Z Watch’, though it remains to be seen how accurate that info is. The device will be made ut of metal, and it is expected that it will be compatible with both Android and iOS operating systems. Heart rate monitor will reportedly be included here as well, and Zopo’s custom software will quite probably run on it, though Android Wear is still a possibility considering this Chinese company still didn’t release any details regarding the software aspect of this watch, but we doubt it. That’s more or less it, we’ll report back as soon as additional details surface, though Zopo is expected to announce this smartwatch in the coming weeks. Either way, stay tuned for more information, additional leaks are quite possible.
