ZTE Blade Qlux Is The Cheapest 4G Smartphone In India

India is the second biggest smartphone market in the world, and a lot of manufacturers are trying to succeed over there. Indian smartphone OEM Micromax is still the number one manufacturer in that Asian coutry, by far, but a lot of companies have entered the Indian market lately. The Prime Minister of India has even started the ‘Make in India’ project through which he intends to lure in foreign OEMs to start manufacturing their smartphones in the country, and it seems like it’s succeeding thus far. A number of OEMs includling Xiaomi have already said that they’ll open up shop over there.

Anyhow, one of the OEMs which is selling their devices in India is ZTE, the China-based smartphone manufacturer. ZTE is a well-known brand all over the world, and the company has just launched a new entry-level handset in India. The ZTE Blade Qlux 4G is the cheapest 4G LTE (Cat.4 speeds) capable smartphone currently available in India, it costs only Rs. 4,999 ($78). Well, the phone is not exactly available for sale at the moment, but it will be in a couple of days, Tuesday, to be precise. ZTE will also be offering ‘double data’ offer from Airtel, but the details are still not known.

The ZTE Blade Qlux 4G features a 4.5-inch 854 x 480 IPS display along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable internal storage (expandable up to 32GB). This handset is powered by MediaTek’s MT6732M quad-core SoC running at 1.3GHz, and it will ship with a 2,200mAh battery on the inside. The 8-megapixel camera (+LED flash) is located on the back of this handset, while there’s a 5-megapixel snapper available up front. This is a dual-SIM handset which comes with Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed, with ZTE’s skin up top, of course. The phone measures 134 x 67.4 x 10.3mm, and it weighs 154 grams. The phone is made out of plastic, and it sports three capacitive buttons below the display, something that is common for ZTE-branded smartphones.

The Blade Qlux 4G is an entry-level device, that much is obvious, but it’s also incredibly cheap for a 4G LTE capable handset. The phone will be available exclusively from Amazon India starting Tuesday, for Rs. 4,999 ($78).
