While most users would expect new phones from Samsung, including the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+, the flagships of this year are still being sold. They have been out there for over four months now and both of the devices are still considered two of the best phones available, while the Edge version is considered more innovative due to its curved screen on both sides. The Super AMOLED display with QHD resolution is considered one of the best ever put in a smartphone, providing vibrant colors and excellent contrast levels, and the Ambient Display technology automatically adjusts some settings so it looks good in most scenarios.
While both of these smartphones were very well received by the time they launched, there are reports that the interest of the potential consumers has decreased, so they haven’t been selling as much as the company would want. The 16-megapixel main camera is often claimed as the one to beat from the competition, and the 5-megapixel one in the front has offered some compelling results for the users that enjoy taking selfies. The company made the right choice by switching their plastic build from past smartphones into the new construction, but some sacrifices had to be made for the new design.
Two features that were present in every Galaxy S until this generation were the removable battery and the Micro SD card slot, and surely they have been missed by their users. Samsung offered the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge with the minimum internal storage of 32 GB, granted, this is a new UFS 2.0 module which provides blazing fast data transfers. Additionally, there are 64 GB and 128 GB options, but a recent report states that the 128 GB option from both phones is no longer available to purchase in India, this option is no longer included in the product page, so it’s official. That may be just a regional concern, but with the extremely high price tag of almost $1000 and a little over for the Edge version, consumers may choose one of the versions with less memory in other markets as well, forcing the company to discontinue the production of such devices.
