Galaxy S6 Active Gets Small Update on AT&T

The Galaxy S6 Active on AT&T is the smartphone to have in you’re a little clumsy or are just, you know, active. It’s getting a small update this week, which is around 150MB in size and doesn’t appear to do much, really. It brings the software version up to G890AUCU2AOF3 and comes with a new Find My Mobile feature, as well as, presumably, some bug fixes.

HTC One M9 Gets Android 5.1 Update

The HTC One M9 launched earlier this year with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, but since then we’ve seen Android 5.1 launch. Finally, those on AT&T will be getting their update to the absolute latest version of Android with an update to software version 2.6.502.16. There isn’t much else besides the bump in software in the background, but those interested can read more from HTC’s site here.

Galaxy S4 Owners Get Lollipop on U.S. Cellular

It seems like ages ago the Galaxy S4 launched, but Samsung has always been pretty decent at upgrading their older hardware. Carriers? Not so much. While a little behind the times, U.S. Cellular is getting better with their software updates, and so they’re bringing Lollipop to the Galaxy S4, of the 5.0.2 variety with a software version of R970TYUGOE2. More info from U.S. Cellular here.

Alcatel Idol 3 Gets Small Update

The Alcatel Idol 3 is something of an unsung hero when it comes to budget smartphones these days, and we’ve even given one away here at AH. Now, it’s getting an update that comes in around 50MB in size and has a number of bug fixes including some camera fixes. It will bump your Idol 3 up to software version 010.01.20150713.17.

Galaxy Note Edge on Sprint Gets Android 5.1

Sprint is brining Android 5.1 Lollipop to the Galaxy Note Edge this week. Which means that the Edge is getting the latest version of Android at long last. Sprint’s changelog can be found here.

Galaxy Note 4 Gets Milky Update on Verizon

The Galaxy Note 4 is getting an update on the other, bigger CDMA network this week. Fans of bloatware will like what they find on their newly updated device; Milk Music is being moved to the homescreen! Because that’s just what will make you choose Milk over Spotify, Google Play, TIDAL or Rdio, right? Details can be found straight from the horse’s mouth.
