Asus To Announce ZenFone Selfie In India On August 8

Asus has announced quite a few devices this year. This Taiwan-based company was one of the biggest surprises of this year’s CES, they’ve released their ZenFone 2 line of devices at the event, including the 4GB variant of the device which is powered by Intel’s SoC. That handset was very affordable when it launched, and it also sported a very attractive design. That being said, the company has announced another rather interesting handset last month, the ZenFone Selfie. This handset, as its name suggests, features a really powerful camera up front, and is already available in parts of Asia.

That being said, the ZenFone selfie will land in India soon as well. Asus has sent out invitations for the company’s August 6th event which will be held at the JLN Stadium in New Delhi. The invitations mention that the Chairman of the company, Jonney Shih, will be present at the event. The company will announce the Asus ZenFone Selfie handset which sports a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, and is powered by the Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core SoC by Qualcomm. The ZenFone Selfie was actually announced in two variants, the 2GB model which ships with 16GB of internal storage, and the 3GB variant which comes with 32GB of in-built storage. Keep in mind that you can expand internal storage via microSD card (up to 64GB) on both variants of the ZenFone Selfie.

One of the main selling points of the ZenFone selfie is its front-facing camera, which is actually the same as the rear-facing shooter. Asus has decided to include 13-megapixel snappers on both the back and front side of the ZenFone selfie. There are not the same sensors though, the rear-facing camera offers f/2.0 aperture, while the front-facing ones comes with f/2.2 aperture. The dual-LED, dual tone flash is also available on both sides of the device. This is a dual-SIM handset which offers 4G LTE connectivity, and a 3,000mAh battery is also a part of the package. Android 5.0 Lollipop comes pre-installed on this smartphone, and Asus’ ZenUI skin is available on top of Google’s OS. As far as the design goes, the ZenFone Selfie actually resembles the ZenFone 2 quite a lot. There you have it, the launch event is not that far away, stay tuned for more info.
