Today, the folks over at HelloMotoHK have leaked out the back covers for four upcoming Motorola devices. We have the Moto X, and Moto G third generations. But also what appears to be a new Droid Mini and Droid. Possibly a Droid Turbo replacement. There’s not much we can tell by this image, as to which is which, but you can tell by the design in comparison to last year’s models which are which. Our guess is that the one on the far right is the Moto X, as it does look pretty similar to last year’s model. With the second one from the left being the new Moto G. And the other two being the new Droids for Verizon.
Motorola has made some pretty subtle changes here for these new devices. The biggest change is the stripe in the back. Which houses the camera, and the dimple. However it looks like on the new Droid that might be a fingerprint sensor. Of course we have no confirmation of that, but it does look like a button that can be pushed. Something I did notice on the back of the Moto X back cover though, is it looks like we might have laser auto-focus above the flash. Which would be a nice feature for Motorola to add in. They did say that their cameras are going to be way better this year, and have some pretty interesting features. So that could be a step in the right direction.
These back covers don’t look as nice as what we got last year out of the Moto X, but these are not the final product, and sometimes pictures don’t do unannounced phones, any justice. So we’ll keep our opinions to ourselves until Motorola announces them this fall. Which should be fairly soon. As the Moto X was announced in September with the Moto G and the Droid Turbo was in October. Definitely an exciting time with all of these fall smartphones coming soon.
