Silent Circle’s main target market is the enterprise, which means that the company seeks to offer the best suite of apps and services for this sector. Today, the company announced that it will be taking part in Google’s Android for Work program, to give enterprises a better and more personalized experience. Silent Circle’s upcoming smartphone, the Blackphone 2, will be the first commercial product to participate on the Android for Work program.
Bill Conner, President and CEO of Silent Circle, just announced that the company is delighted to be a part of Google’s Android for Work program, as it essentially enhances the vision that Silent Circle has for privacy inside enterprises, Conner noted how the implementation of Android for Work with the Blackphone 2 is “a significant step forward in Silent Circle’s development which enables us to deliver privacy and security to a broader enterprise customer base, while meeting their need for the wide-ranging apps and services provided by Google”. Currently, Silent Circle offers their own Silent Suite, which includes a collection of apps tailored specifically to give the user more privacy, although they are only available without any extra charges for a year. Fortunately Android for Work will still offer Google’s full suite of services, which also offer a great level of privacy.
Silent Circle is releasing the Blackphone 2 this fall, and will bring much needed support for Google Play and Google Mobile Services to Silent OS. This will give enterprises a lot more customization possibilities to their incredibly secure handsets, as companies themselves will decide their own balance between connectivity and productivity services used normally throughout the enterprise. There is no doubt that the Blackphone 2 will once again impress the whole tech community with an astounding level of security and privacy, without sacrificing any productivity.
