Blue Galaxy S6 Available At Carphone Warehouse In The UK

UK-based mobile phone retailer Carphone Warehouse is offering a blue colored model of Samsung’s latest flagship, the Galaxy S6, through its retail outlets and on its website. While the color has been one of the available options for residents in the US for some time now, customers across the pond have had to wait thus far to get their hands on the model, which is now being offered in the UK exclusively by the London-headquartered retailer. The 32 GB version of the Galaxy S6 (irrespective of the color you choose) can be yours in the UK from Carphone Warehouse for £550 if you’re looking for an unlocked, SIM-free version compatible with any UK network of your choice. The 64 GB unlocked version meanwhile, comes with a price-tag of £640, while the 128 GB variant will set you back a pretty penny – to the tune of £740. While all the options in black, white and gold are listed as being “In Stock”, only the 32 GB version of the blue model can be had right now. Stocks of the 64 GB variant are slated to arrive at the retailer on the 10th of this month, while the 128 GB variant will be available from Friday, July 3rd.

As for the various monthly plans available for the device on a contractual basis, the device can be had for free with no upfront cost with a monthly payment of £33.50 on O2, which entitles you to unlimited texts, but only 500 minutes of talk and 500 MB of LTE data, on a 24-month contract. The cheapest plans from Vodafone and EE are also similarly priced, with Vodafone offering 1 GB of LTE data alongside unlimited texts and 1000 minutes of talk for £35 and EE offering 2 GB of data with unlimited texts and 1000 minutes talk for the same monthly payment, but the plan does come with an upfront charge of £30. While the plans mentioned above are for the 32 GB variant, there are also several plans listed on multiple carriers for the 64 and 128 GB models.

The Galaxy S6 is the South Korean manufacturer’s latest flagship, released in April this year, and comes as a replacement for the Galaxy S5, which was released last year. The device competes with smartphones like Apple’s iPhone 6, LG’s G4 and HTC’s M9 among a number of other similar devices. Coming to the hardware specifications, the Galaxy S6 features a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display, with a QHD resolution. The device is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 7420 SoC, which comes with an integrated octa-core CPU clocked at a maximum of 2.1 GHz, and a Mali-T760MP8 GPU. The smartphone has 3 GB of RAM and comes in three storage variants as mentioned already. The rear camera has a 16 megapixel sensor while the front one comes with a 5 megapixel sensor. The device supports Cat.6 LTE and has Android 5.0 Lollipop pre-installed on it, with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top.
