Quick Charge has become a pretty popular feature, not just with smartphones, but also with chargers, and battery packs as of late. Aukey recently launched a whole bunch of products that support Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 standard. Including a 10,000mAh external battery pack. I’ve actually been using it for a few weeks now with the LG G4, and Sony Xperia Z3, and it works quite well. Unfortunately there is just one USB port. So you can only charge one device at a time, but it is Quick Charge 2.0, so you can charge your device fairly quickly. Which is what we all want right, to get our dead phone back up and running as soon as possible.
While this is a Quick Charge portable battery pack, it will also charge devices that do not support Quick Charge, like the iPhone 6, or the Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3. With this battery pack, you do get a micro USB cable included, however, it’s not embedded, which I think I’d prefer. That way you could just toss the battery pack into your bag and be on your way, but you need to be sure you grab a micro USB cable to go with you, or the battery pack will be useless, essentially. It’s available in just one color, which is silver. It is aluminum, so it looks pretty nice actually.
Through using the Aukey Quick Charge 2.0 External Battery Pack, I can confirm it works as advertised. It charged my Xperia Z3 about as quickly as my Turbo charger did, which tells me that it is Quick Charge enabled. And it will work with any device running a Snapdragon 801, 805, 808 and 810. It also works with Samsung’s Quick Charge (which they actually call Fast Charge) on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. It charges relatively quickly as well, which is always nice when you have a large battery pack like this one here.
You can pick up the Aukey Quick Charge 2.0 External Battery Pack right now from Amazon for just $29.99. The normal price is $49.99, so you’d better hurry and grab yours before the price goes back up.
