The Moto 360 was easily one of the most popular Android Wear smartwatches in the now decent sized lineup of options, and to this day it’s still one of the most popular choices. The round-faced wearable has been available since last Fall and while it has gone through numerous price drops here in the U.S. on the Google Store as well as other retail outlets where it’s offered, up north in Canada it has remained the same price since it was launched in the region, which has always been $279.99 CAD. Today that changes however, as Google has now finally dropped the cost down to a more reasonable price point.
It’s still not as low as it is here in the states, but then again it is a different region with a different economy and the prices wouldn’t be the same anyhow. If you’re in the Canadian market and you haven’t picked up a Moto 360 smartwatch yet, now is the time since Google has recently lowered the price on the Google Store down to $199 CAD, bringing it down a total of $79.99 CAD from the original cost. This is while the price sits at $149.99 USD here in the U.S. It’s also been discovered that Google has removed the Sony Smartwatch 3 from the Google Store shelves, so if you were more interested in Sony’s offering you won’t be able to get it straight from Google any longer, at least for now, as there’s no telling whether or not Google will restock it.
You can however grab the watch from a number of other retailers in Canada like Bell, and chances are you could probably find it on other merchant websites. The Moto 360 is Motorola’s first iteration of an Android Wear smartwatch, equipped with a round face, leather or steel bands depending on the options you choose, and it should now have Android Wear 5.1 in all regions. As Motorola is poised to be launching new devices soon and there has been some speculation about the possibility of a replacement to the Moto 360, it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise to see the device start to drop in cost across the regions where it’s offered.
