HTC is bringing the Desire brand back to the US. Typically the Desire brand has been used for mid-range and low-end devices in Europe, with last year being the first time they made it to the US with the Desire name. Now the company has announced four new Desire smartphones for the US. Which includes the Desire 626, Desire 626s, Desire 526, and Desire 520.
The Desire 626 comes with a 5-inch 720p display, it also sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor clocked at 1.1GHz. There’s also 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot. HTC has placed a 5MP camera on the front for selfies, with a 8MP camera on the back. It’s also powered by a 2000mAh battery, and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. The Desire 626s has all the same features, but it drops down to 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The front-facing camera also drops from a 5MP shooter to a 2MP shooter.
The Desire 526 features a 4.7-inch qHD display, that’s a lowercase q not an uppercase. It also features the Snapdragon 210 processor, again clocked at 1.1GHz. There’s also 1.5GB of RAM inside along with 8GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot. There’s also a 8MP camera on the back, with a 2MP front-facing shooter here. Just like the Desire 626 and 626s we also have a 2000mAh battery and Android 5.1 Lollipop on-board.
Finally we have the Desire 520, which appears to be positioned as their lowest-end smartphone. And you’ll see why with the specs. The Desire 520 is rocking a 4.5-inch FWVGA display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 210 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot. Also a 8MP camera on the back with a 2MP front-facing camera for selfies. It’s powered by a 2000mAh battery and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
HTC says in their press release that the Desire 626, Desire 626s, Desire 526 and Desire 520 will all be available in a variety of colors at the major US carriers. Which include AT&T, Boost Mobile, Cricket, MetroPCS, Sprint, T-Mobile, Tracfone, Verizon, and Virgin Mobile. Quite the showing from HTC, being able to get these on just about every carrier in the US, both prepaid and postpaid here. HTC also mentions that these carriers will confirm availability as well as pricing beginning this week.
