Smartwatches have been all the craze over the best part of the last year. So much so that virtually all manufacturers have jumped into the game and brought their offerings to the table. That said, one particular manufacturer has significantly taken their time in bringing their debut watch to the market. The manufacturer is Huawei. In fact, it was back in September at last year’s IFA event in Berlin when Huawei confirmed that they were making a smartwatch although at the time, they also announced that it should not be expected until sometime in 2015.
Fast forward all the way to March of this year and this year’s MWC event and the Huawei Watch made its first proper appearance and was finally unveiled. In fact, it was unveiled to much applause as the Watch seemed to adopt quite an attractive appearance and was being touted as one of the more sophisticated options available. That said, in spite of being unveiled in March, the Huawei Watch has still yet to arrive on the market. Well, that does look like it is about to change.
The Huawei Watch has finally made its way to the FCC. As a result of the listing finally appearing on the FCC, chances are, that the watch is gearing up to become available on the market. While some FCC listings are notoriously mysterious in their identification, this one is not and does clearly state that the device in question is the Huawei Watch. Not to mention, the listing goes on to confirm the 300mAh battery is in use. Of course, the listing does not provide any details on pricing, but based on the numerous reports that have emerged over the last few weeks and months, this is going to be one of the more expensive watches on the market, with the latest reports suggested a figure between $350 and $400 depending on region. For that increased price, the specs on offer include a 1.4-inch touchscreen display with a 400 by 400 resolution. While inside, the Huawei Watch offers 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage and powered by a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm processor.
