InFocus is a rather interesting smartphone OEM. This company is based in the US, and they’re selling their devices in India. InFocus has released quite a few devices in India this year, like the InFocus M810 mid-ranger which was announced earlier this month actually. Well, the company has decided to release yet another device from that very same series it seems, the M812. This smartphone is more powerful than the M810, and can even be considered a high(er)-end device at this point, which is not exactly typical for InFocus. Anyhow, let’s see what this smartphone has to offer.
The InFocus M812 sports a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display along with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage (expandable up to 64GB via microSD card). This smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor by Qualcomm which is clocked at 2.5GHz, and ships with an Adreno 330 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel camera is available on the back of this smartphone, and same goes for the true tone LED flash. The 8-megapixel snapper is available up front, and it sports an 88-degree wide-angle lens. The 2,900mAh non-removable battery is also a part of this package, and the device also offer 4G LTE connectivity. Android 5.0 Lollipop comes pre-installed on this smartphone along with InFocus’ Inlife UI which is placed on top of Google’s operating system. InFocus M812 measures 157.6 x 77.1 x 7.38mm, while it weighs 120 grams.
This smartphone is made out of anodized aluminum, and it sports a unibody design. The phone looks quite sleek, and is the most powerful handset InFocus has released to date. This company usually releases low and mid-range smartphones, but have decided to push a higher-end model out in the market as well it seems. The InFocus M812 is priced at Rs. 19,999 ($313) in India, and will be available for purchase in September, so there’s still some time to wait before you’ll be able to purchase this smartphone. The InFocus M812 seems like more than a decent offering by the company, but will have to face tough competition in the Indian smartphone market. It will certainly going to be interesting to see how will this smartphone fare in the near future.
