In their continued effort to bring their products over to Android, Microsoft has just launched a new app onto Google Play, only this time it isn’t aimed at those looking for cloud storage or a personal assistant like Cortana, or those who want to up their productivity using Microsoft’s suite of office ready tools like Word and Excel. No, this time Microsoft is setting their sites on gamers, and those ones which are especially interested in the Halo franchise. Their new app, called Halo Channel, brings in a wealth of Halo-related content spanning videos, guides, and more, both community created and otherwise. The app seems to have fairly minimal requirements so as long as you have Android 4.4 KitKat on your device you should be able to download the app and enjoy what it has to offer.
Among the sea of content those who have an appreciation for all things Halo can stream and view the live action digital series Forward Unto Dawn, which contains a collection of five episodes each lasting 15 minutes aimed at marketing the Halo 4 title which came out a few years ago. Eager Spartans itching to get the one up on opponents can also view guides including helpful tips on various multiplayer maps, while also exploring the details of the Halo story and dive into the lore behind the series of games. There’s also a tab for streaming music from the Halo games if you had a fondness for it.
Other available offerings within the app include strategies from pro players to help people play more competitively, likely located in the esports tab. With everything the app contains this is certainly a must have for Halo fans which will likely have some tie-ins to Halo 5 when it eventually releases, and if you plan on picking the game up this app should be filled with all sorts of useful stuff from other players of the game. Gamers will also find a collection of news about the Halo franchise and the upcoming game, and there’s even a tab for your own personal channel where you can find favorited content as well as recently played or viewed content. This way if you stumble across something you love and want to share with your friends, you can find it easily here. The app is free to use so if you love Halo, pick it up.
