Motorola Moto G (2015) launch is right around the corner. Motorola will unveil their new budget offering tomorrow, and it seems like the 3rd-gen Moto X will be launched alongside it as well. We’ve already seen all sorts of leaks when it comes to the new Moto G, ranging from renders, real life images, all the way to the phone’s specs and all sorts of other details. That being said, another leak popped up online, Moto G’s (2015) benchmark results. Let’s see what’s new, shall we.
If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll notice 4 images. Each of these images shows results from a specific benchmarking tool, and basically each one of them shows an improvement compared to the last year’s model. That is to be expected, of course, especially considering the Moto G (2014) was powered by the Snapdragon 400, while this year’s model will probably ship with the more powerful 64-bit Snapdragon 410 quad-core SoC. The first image in the gallery down below shows the GeekBench 3 results, and as you can see, Moto G (2015) scored 1,640 points, which gives it a better score than the Moto E (2015). The 2nd-gen Moto G has scored 1,174 on that very same benchmark, which should give you a better idea of how much more capable is the Snapdragon 410 SoC compared to its 32-bit sibling.
The second image down below comes from AnTuTu, and more or less confirms GeekBench 3 results. Moto G (3rd-gen scored 23,258, and is placed right above the Moto E (2015) which sports pretty much the same SoC. In comparison, the 2nd-gen Moto G scored 19.335 on AnTuTu. The third and fourth image in the gallery are actually graphics benchmarks, the GFX 2.7 T-Rex and GFX 3.0 Manhattan. The Moto G (2015) scored 5.3 on T-Rex, and 1.7 on Manhattan, which seemingly makes the GPU in the 2nd-gen Moto G more powerful. The Adreno 306 included in the upcoming Moto G is clocked somewhat lower than its sibling included in the 2nd-gen Moto G (Adreno 305), which could explain this result.
There you have it folks, the Moto G (3rd-gen) leaked benchmark results and comparisons. As a reminder, the upcoming Moto G is expected to sport a 5-inch display, and will probably ship in both 1 and 2GB variants, but we’re still not sure. The 1GB model is said to ship with 8GB of internal storage, and the 2GB variant with 16GB of included storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core SoC will power this handset, and a 13-megapixel camera will be included on its back.
