The competition in the Chinese smartphone market is fierce. There are a lot of companies trying to grab a piece of the marketshare, and some of them are even joining forces in order to do so. Lenovo and Qihoo 360 are a prime example of that, these two companies have together invested into a new company called ‘ZUK’ which will be manufacturing Cyanogen OS-powered handsets. The first ZUK-branded handset, ZUK Z1, will probably launch in the near future, and its partial specifications have leaked recently. We’ve also seen the phone’s camera samples a while back, and we do have additional ones to share this time around, read on.

The phone will reportedly sport a 13-megapixel shooter on its back, though we don’t have much more info when it comes to this camera. If we had to guess, we’d say that this is Sony’s IMX214 sensor in action, but that that info with a grain of salt, we can’t confirm it at this point. The images look alright, they’re not spectacular, but are solid looking. Some of them seem a bit underexposed (colors seem a bit off as well), though the images seem rather realistic in general. You can’t really expect this camera to produce images like a high-end device though.
As far as ZUK Z1 specs go, the information we’ve received thus far says that the phone will feature a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 3GB of RAM and 16 or 32GB of internal storage. The 13-megapixel camera will be located on its back, and a 5-megapixel snapper will reportedly be available up front. This will be a dual-SIM handset which will offer 4G LTE connectivity. The 4,000mAh battery has also been mentioned, and same can be said about Android 5.1.1 Lollipop which will reportedly come pre-installed on this device with Cyanogen OS installed on top of it. The fingerprint scanner has also been mentioned a couple of times, though it remains to be seen will it be included in this package.
