OnePlus Cardboard Is Now Available For $0 (+Shipping)

OnePlus is one of the more interesting Chinese smartphone OEMs. This company was founded at the end of 2013, and they’ve released their first (and only) handset in 2014. The OnePlus One is still a really compelling device, and still the company’s flagship. OnePlus will announce their second-gen flagship on July 27th, but until that happens, OnePlus One is still the company’s flagship. That being said, OnePlus has said that they plan to do the event in Virtual Reality (VR), though we still don’t know all the details. In order for people to watch the event, the company has promised that they’ll offer OnePlus Cardboard for free. The listing just popped up on the company’s official website, read on.

OnePlus Cardboard is now available for purchase on OnePlus’ official website (source link down below), and it is free of charge, as promised. Keep in mind that you’ll have to pay for shipping though, so don’t think that you’ll get this completely free of charge. Along with the listing of their very own Cardboard, OnePlus has also stated that they think ‘VR is the future’. OnePlus Cardboard is made out of thicker and stronger cardboard material compared to other cardboards out there. They’ve added a high-quality velcro for durability, while the Cardboard is also 20% smaller compared to the competition. OnePlus’ Cardboard offering is basically compatible with most devices which are up to 6-inches in size. The company has also mentioned that they’ve added a special film that repels dirt and oils on this thing, which should also help out with durability and what not.

That being said, the OnePlus 2 event will be held on July 27th at 3am GMT (7pm PST). The company’s upcoming flagship will be powered by the Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core SoC, and it apparently won’t overheat, at least according to OnePlus. We’ve seen a ton of leaked content regarding OnePlus 2, and it will certainly going to be an interesting launch. We’ll report back as soon as some additional info surfaces, and if you’re interested in purchasing OnePlus’ Cardboard, you can do that free of charge (though you’ll have to pay for shipping) by following the source link down below.
