OPPO announced the Mirror 5s earlier this month for Taiwan, and now they’ve announced the Mirror 5 on their website. The Mirror 5 features a 5-inch qHD (that’s 960×540 resolution) display, along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor inside. There’s also 2GB of RAM included as well as 16GB of storage. Not to mention the microSD card slot is also included on the OPPO Mirror 5. As far as the cameras go, there’s a 8MP camera on the back with a 5MP front-facing shooter on the Mirror 5. The device also has all the usual connectivity including 4G LTE, 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, A-GPS and a micro USB port for charging the 2420mAh battery.
Speaking of the battery, it should last quite a while, seeing as it’s just a bit smaller than the Galaxy S6’s battery, with a whole lot less pixels to push. Not to mention it’s also using the Snapdragon 410, which is much less powerful than the Exynos 7420.
The OPPO Mirror 5 is a slightly lower specced device, compared to the Mirror 5s launched earlier this month. The biggest difference is the display, as the Mirror 5s features a 720p display while the Mirror 5 has a qHD display. OPPO has pre-loaded the Mirror 5 with their Smart Remote Control app. The company says the app can control most appliances in the home, which is a pretty nice addition to have on any smartphone.
Surprisingly, the OPPO Find 5 will be leaving Asia. The company says that it will be available in 15 markets including South Asia, Southeast Asia, Mexico and North Africa markets. So it’s not coming to the US, but it’s getting close, as it’ll be available in Mexico. No word on pricing just yet, obviously that’s going to differ from market to market based on import fees as well as taxes in the different markets. There’s also no word on the release date just yet either. As always, we’ll be sure to keep you up to speed as to when the Mirror 5 will be available. Hopefully it’s sooner rather than later.
