Panasonic P55 Novo Unveiled, Features A Triple LED Flash

Panasonic is a really well-known brand, but they’re definitely not amongst the first companies you think of when someone mentions the word ‘smartphone’. This Japan-based company does manufacture smartphones though, but their availability is very limited. India is one of the markets where Panasonic sells their phones, the company has released two devices over there recently, the Eluga L 4G in May, and Eluga S Mini last month. The company is now back with yet another mid-range device, read on.

The Panasonic P55 Novo is the new mid-ranger released by this Japanese company. This handset sports a 5.3-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS display, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable internal storage (expandable up to 32GB via microSD card). The handset is powered by an unnamed 1.4GHz quad-core SoC, quite probably a MediaTek chip. This is also a dual-SIM device which comes with 3G HSPA+ connectivity, and a 2,500mAh battery. The 13-megapixel camera is located on its back and next to it you can see the triple LED flash, which is rather interesting. The 5-megapixel snapper is available up front, and a single LED flash is available next to it. The IR blaster is also available here, and the device measures 147.9 x 73.8 x 8.15mm. Android 4.4 KitKat comes pre-installed here with some additions by Panasonic, of course.

“With consumer priorities changing radically, we believe in enhancing the customer experience by providing them with smart technology on the go. With the new smartphone, we are here to offer a new dimension wherein the model has been specially designed to provide easy accessibility to consumers looking for a single app to control all home devices,” said Manish Sharma, Managing Director at Panasonic India. Panasonic India’s Business Head of Mobility Division, Pankaj Rana, added the following: “Indian customers are curious to have multiple options in a single device and keeping that need in mind, we came up with the P55 Novo – an all in all innovative smartphone meeting the needs of our smart users. Panasonic’s advanced technology that’s important to our customers has been seamlessly integrated into this smartphone. This is a step further to make the smartphones smarter and intuitive.”

The Panasonic P55 Novo is a solid mid-range device which costs Rs. 9,290 ($146) in India. It sports an interesting triple LED flash setup on the back, and it is available in Champagne Gold, Midnight Blue and Smoke Gray color options.
