We’ve been hearing loads about the Galaxy Tab S 2 over the past few months. It’s going to be the follow up to the Galaxy Tab S that was launched about this time last year. It was the first tablet to feature an AMOLED display – aside from the original Galaxy Tab. Now we’re starting to hear some interesting facts about this tablet. According to SamMobile we’re getting an 8.0 and a 9.7-inch variant of these, which means the larger model is slightly smaller than last years, where we had a 10.5-inch model. The publication is also reporting that the Galaxy Tab S 2 8.0 will be priced at €399, which converts to about $440 USD, and the Galaxy Tab S 2 9.7 will be priced at €499, which converts to around $550 USD. Now mind you, these are just the WiFi variants. The 4G LTE version of the Galaxy Tab S 2 9.7 is going to be priced at about €589, which is around $650 USD. So these won’t be cheap tablets.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Tab E from Samsung is said to be of an entry level tablet, and in fact it’s already debuted in India recently, and Samsung is expecting to sell it for about €199. So it might be just a tad cheaper than the Galaxy Tab A, which has been available for a good little while here in the States as well as throughout Europe. This budget-tablet really shows itself in the specs however, with a 9.7-inch TFT LCD display sporting a resolution of 1280×800 pixels. Powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 8GB of storage with a microSD card slot to expand the storage. There’s also 1.5GB of RAM and a 5,000mAh battery inside to keep it going. Sadly, it’s running Android 4.4 KitKat instead of Lollipop. Hopefully, Samsung will update it shortly after launch, or even before launch.
Currently the launch for the Galaxy Tab E is unknown, however, it is expected to make its way into Taiwan by the end of July. As far as the Galaxy Tab S 2 goes, there’s no information as to when Samsung plans on announcing that tablet, and launching it internationally.
