Red Bull may be more well known for creating energy drinks, and for that hilarious Flugtag event that takes place every year, but they’re actually quite enthusiastic about sports and are pretty avid sponsors of the biggest and most extreme sports out there. Today, Red Bull Media House is announcing the launch of a new app which is aimed at athletes and those who are just as enthusiastic about sports as they are called Red Bull Alert. It’s an alarm clock app which seeks to motivate people to get up out of bed and get out to engage in whatever sports they enjoy most, or it can simply be just an alarm clock that motivates you to get up early and get the day started with whatever it is you need to do.
Amidst the motivational aspects of this alarm clock, Red Bull Alert tracks your wake up stats and motivates you with daily feedback, and it can toss those stats into a leaderboard so you can compete and compare against your friends and other users, a feature which is enabled by logging into the app with one of your social accounts such as Facebook or Google+. Once signed in, the app lets you share your accomplishments with either Facebook, Google+, or Twitter, or all three, in addition to letting you compare your stats against your friends and users in the leaderboards.
What some users might find to be an enjoyable feature of the alarm clock is the ability to customize the themes of each alarm you set. Red Bull Alert houses nine different sports themes to make each alarm personalized with specific sights and sounds so that you wake up with a customized visual and audio experience that includes music tailored to each theme along with a backdrop based on that sport. Themes include BMX, Mountain Biking, Surfing, Snowboarding, Skateboarding, Aerial Sports, FMX, Rally, and Formula 1. Themes aren’t the only customizable option though, as you can also customize your snooze count for each alert you set up and should you need a little reminder, Red Bull Alert has it built-in to where you can set reminders for yourself for any upcoming alerts you may have on the horizon. Red Bull Alert also supports Android Wear so you can interact with it on your wrist too, something which should make those happy who own and use any one of the smartwatches. The UI is also themed in material design which makes the app itself visually pleasing to look at and use. Red Bull Alert is free, and it’s live in the Play Store now where you can grab it if you’ve been on the hunt for a new alarm clock to fulfill your needs.
