Samsung released two of the most powerful tablets available last year, the Galaxy Tab S series includes one with an 8.4-inch screen and other with a 10.5-inch screen and both of them included some of the best internals available at that time, their screens use AMOLED technology, providing very vibrant colors and excellent contrast levels, plus, they were also very thin devices with a 6.6 mm profile. More than a year has passed since they were announced, so the new generation is expected any time now and a new report suggests that the company could announce them as soon as next week.
According to the report, their reliable sources mentioned that the Galaxy Tab S2 tablets will be announced on Monday, July 20th. There have been a lot of leaks regarding the new tablets, they have appeared in some certifications and we even got real-life photos, so the date of the announcement could turn out to be true and with the recent rumors suggesting that Samsung could release new phones on August, the company wouldn’t want to interfere with those announcements. The images included in the report seem to be official renders and they match the pictures we have been seeing.
As for the tablets, they will once again be available in two sizes, this time, the one with the smaller one will have an 8-inch screen while the screen on the larger one will measure 9.7 inches. The new displays will have a 4:3 aspect ratio as the other tablets the company has released this year and the resolution will be 2048 x 1536 pixels, so the density will be kept more or less the same. Also, the company is rumored to use a metallic build in the newer tablets opposed to the plastic one used in the current generation. The tablets will most likely be powered by Exynos processors, the report suggests that a series 7 one will be included. They will have 32 GB of internal memory which could be expanded with Micro SD cards and the amount of RAM is 3 GB. While Samsung announced their slimmest phone yet with a 5.9 mm profile, the tablets could be even thinner, measuring as little as 5.4 mm.
