Samsung introduced its Level lineup of audio devices almost a year ago, the company uses premium designs and technology to go along with their mobile devices. It currently includes headphones like the wireless Level Over and Level On which include wired and wireless options and the Level In earbuds, plus two Bluetooth speakers, the Level Box and the Level Box Mini. Now, the company has introduced its newest member of this family with some of their latest technology, they are the Bluetooth earbuds called Level U.
The design is a little unorthodox, but it is supposed to make up for great ergonomics and comfort. They consist of a flexible band that goes around the user’s neck and holds the earbuds through urethane joints and along with their wing ear gels should offer a better fit. Not to mention that they are very light at just 33 grams. The earbuds also feature some magnets to clasp them together when they’re not being used to keep things clean and in order. The neck band includes controls to adjust the volume as well as playing or pausing or skipping a song. High-quality sound is provided by 12 mm speakers and they include two microphones, one of them is used to capture the user’s voice while the other is for noise reduction from outside and echo cancellation to reduce interference during calls, plus there is support for the Apt-X Codec which along the Bluetooth 4.1 profile should deliver CD like quality. There’s a downloadable Level app (for Android 4.2.2 and more recent versions) that offers Text-To-Speech functionality, so users can get notified of missed calls, alarms, scheduled events and the battery level by a vibrating alert.
The integrated battery can offer up to 10 hours of audio playback, 11 hours of talk time and 500 hours on standby. While the battery can be recharged with a 5-pin connector integrated within the neck band. The Level U earbuds are being released today and can be purchased from the company’s site and the asking price is $69.99, they are supposed to be offered in blue-black, white, gold and blue, but right now only the blue-black and white options are available.
