Most wireless carriers have agreements and partnerships with major sports. T-Mobile in particular has had partnerships as an official sponsor of the NBA multiple times, as well as a partnerships with MLB. This morning T-Mobile announced that they would be expanding their MLB partnership. This doesn’t just grant them brand awareness as the official sponsor though, as the partnership sees T-Mobile become the first-ever presenting sponsor of the MLB All-Star game which will be broadcast on the FOX network and FOX Deportes as well as a coordinated promotion of the sponsorship via social media when the game takes place beginning July 14th.
In an effort to reach even more customers and spread the word of their Un-Carrier advantage, T-Mobile will display their commitment to America’s favorite pastime while also promoting the benefits of T-Mobile to Baseball fans during the All-Star game. In addition to the promotion of the T-Mobile brand on the air during the game on both Fox networks and the social media hits, T-Mobile’s brand presence will be displayed on the marquee inside the Great American Ballpark stadium. Alongside these things T-Mobile will be engaging fans with their own national promotion that is linked to the All-Star game to coincide with all other efforts, although T-Mobile hasn’t shared any details regarding this particular promotion just yet, stating that news of the promotion is coming soon.
In true T-Mobile fashion, the company’s outspoken CEO John Legere states that they plan to “paint the town magenta” during All-Star week while also mentioning some special “surprise Un-Carrier style plans” to make the All-Star Game even more memorable. These sponsorship plans are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to T-Mobile’s passion for Baseball, as they sponsor a number of teams directly in addition to the league, including the Seattle Mariners, the Los Angeles Angels, Minnesota Twins, Washington Nationals, as well as the Cincinnati Reds who are hosting the 2015 All-Star game. For those that love Baseball as much as T-Mobile, they’re currently offering the promotional feature for free access to the MLB.Com At Bat application which allows users access to various different things including live home and away live radio broadcast feeds.
