The growth-rate of the Indian smartphone market is quite staggering, and no wonder so many OEMs are trying to grab a piece of the marketshare. That being said, we’re here to take a look at the top 10 smartphones in India in July. There are quite a few solid offerings in India, and it wasn’t exactly easy to choose, but here we go.
10. Micromax Canvas Silver 5
Micromax has recently announced the Canvas Silver 5 smartphone, and it’s a very solid offering by the company. This 4.8-inch device sports an AMOLED display and 2GB of RAM, while it costs Rs. 17,999 ($283). The phone’s frame is made out of aluminum, and you also get Android 5.0 Lollipop pre-installed on this handset. 4G LTE connectivity is also available here, the phone is only 5.1mm thick and it comes in Black and White color options.
9. Xiaomi Redmi 2
Xiaomi’s Redmi 2 handset has been originally announced back in January, and it has been available in India since March. This is an entry-level handset and it is very affordable, Xiaomi actually cut down its price recently, and it now costs only Rs. 5,999 in India. This thing packs in a 4.7-inch display, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and is fueled by the Snapdragon 410 64-bit octa-core processor. The Redmi 2 is one of the best entry-level handsets you can purchase these days in India.
8. Xiaomi Mi 4
Xiaomi Mi 4 is the company’s flagship for 2014, and yet it is still very popular in India. For a good reason, the Mi 4 actually offers a great set of specs for the price. The Mi 4 features a 5-inch 1080p display, 3GB of RAM and is made out of metal. The phone costs Rs. 17,999 ($282) in India, and is one of the best devices you can buy in that Asian country for the said price.
7. Asus ZenFone 2
The ZenFone 2 is actually a line of devices Asus introduced back in January. This Taiwan-based smartphone OEM surprised quite a few people when they introduced the 4GB variant of the ZenFone 2, and people were even more surprised when they found out how much the device costs. The most powerful ZenFone 2 variant is priced at Rs. 22,999 in India, which makes this device one of the better handsets you can get for that amount of money.
6. Motorola Moto G (2nd-gen)
Motorola’s Moto G (2nd-gen) handset is recognized as one of the best buy devices out in the market. This phone features a solid spec sheet, is very well built, and it costs only Rs. 10,999 ($172) in India via Flipkart, and we’re talking about a 16GB variant of this device. The Moto G features a 5-inch 720p display, 1GB of RAM and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core processor. The phone also sports an 8-megapixel camera on its back, and a 2-megapixel shooter up front.
5. Meizu M1 Note
Meizu M1 Note is a mid-range handset, but a very powerful mid-range handset. 4. OnePlus One
The OnePlus Two launch is right around the corner, and despite that, the OnePlus One is still a great purchase. OnePlus’ flagship costs Rs. 18,000 ($282) and Rs. 22,000 ($344) for the 16 and 64GB variant of this handset. This smartphone features a 5.5-inch 1080p display along with 3GB of RAM and a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera. This handset also ships with Cyanogen’s software, though you can install OnePlus’ very own Oxygen OS if you prefer.
3. Samsung Galaxy S6 / Galaxy S6 Edge
The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are the company’s new flagships. You’ll have to pay a premium price to purchase either of these two smartphones, but you do get a great device in return. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core processor, and it ships with Android 5.1 Lollipop with LG’s UX 4.0 UI on top of it.

YU is an India-based company owned by Micromax. This smartphone OEM hasn’t been around for long, but they’ve already managed to release two really compelling smartphones. Both the Yureka and Yuphoria are very affordable, offer solid specs and build, and they’re powered by Cyanogen OS. The Yureka features a 5.5-inch 720p display, 2GB of RAM, comes with the Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core SoC, and is made out of plastic. The Yuphoria, on the other hand, sports a 5-inch 720p display, 2GB of RAM, is made out of metal and ships with a Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core SoC.
