Let’s be honest we all have our favorite shows, whether be on cable, Netflix or the basic stations we all have at least one. It’s not a new concept, people have been watching TV and have been crazy about their favorite shows since before Jan Brady uttered “Marcia, Marcia, Marcia.” But one thing that is new is DVR and because of that most people have no idea when their favorite show comes on. TvShow Time a French based app that launched in May 2011 aims to change all that and much more.
TvShow Time wants to take our TV viewing experience to a whole new level by adding community and social media to the mix. With their new updated app, you will find out not only when your favorite shows come on, but it will allow you to connect with fans all over the web. Speaking to Tech Crunch co-founder and CEO Antonio Pinto had this to say about the new community features on TvShow Time. “We want our users to open the TVShow Time app after watching an episode and enjoy the experience as much as they enjoyed the episode.” To that end, a lot of the new features on the new 5.0 TvShow Time app are community and experience sharing based. You can get a feed of all the memes and feedback from other TvShow Time app users during your favorite shows. After you will have a place to talk about your show with other fans concerning that episode or the season as a whole. Another bonus is that the TvShow Time app will only give you info for where you’re at in that current show, that way none of your friends can play spoiler.
Another thing your will notice about the new app is its total redesign and layout compared to the old TvShow Time app. More great features included the ability to send messages to your friends about your favorite characters or scenes and a rating feature so everyone in your community can see how much you loved that last episode of Arrow. The new TvShow Time app really pushes the community aspect and social commentary of TV viewing and is now live in the Google Play store for those who want to try it out.
