Xiaomi Bring Mi Headphones and New Earphones in India

When Xiaomi started their expansion into markets like the US, the UK and of course Europe they did so with accessories primarily. Those included the ever-popular battery packs and accessories like earphones and headphones. India meanwhile, were lucky enough to receive the full Xiaomi treatment, and now the market is a key one for the Chinese company. Smartphones like the Mi 3, RedMi and now of course the Indian-exclusive Mi 4i have been on sale for some time now in the region. Now, Xiaomi is expanding their offerings with two of the most affordable headphones around, the Mi Headphones and their latest Piston earphones.

The Mi Headphones are something that we reviewed earlier in the year, and found them to be pretty great, especially for the price. As for the Piston earphones, these need no introduction, as mobile listeners have been enjoying these for years now. Both are making their debut in India for RS 5,499 and RS 999 tomorrow at 10AM local time. You might be wondering what’s so special about these two items, well the Mi Headphones feature 50mm drivers with your choice of either on-ear or over-ear ear cushions that are replaceable, a quality MEMS microphone for calls and some excellent sound quality at this price range. Meanwhile, the Piston 3 earphones feature a more subtle design from previous editions however, they still have the signature packaging and an “aerospace grade” driver for tight bass and solid mid-range as well as clear highs. The Piston headphones have been sought after for years among mobile listeners.

Both items feature Kevlar fibres in their cabling to ensure hard-wearing electronics and at these sort of prices, both are some of the best value for money out there when it comes to headphones. Indian fans of Xiaomi products have been fairly lucky recently, with their pick of some of the best smartphones on the market as well as Indian-focused hardware. Over time, the Indian market has become an important region for the Chinese giant, and they’ve clearly given companies like Micromax and XOLO something to worry about. Both the Mi Headphones and new Mi earphones will go on sale tomorrow 10AM local time for RS 5,499 and RS 999, respectively.
