Xiaomi And Uber Partner Up, Unveil Mi Note Delivery Service

Xiaomi is one of the fastest-growing smartphone manufacturers in the world at the moment. This company is currently the number one smartphone OEM in China, and considering that the company was founded back in 2015, that’s quite a feat. Anyhow, Xiaomi is not only a smartphone manufacturer, the company dabbles in all sorts of projects, they manufacture tablets, smart TVs, and all sorts of smart gadgets like water purifiers, smart scales etc. Xiaomi has a lot of partners all over the world, and the company has just added yet another one, read on.

The company has just announced that they’ve partnered up with Uber, an international transportation company. The two companies have partnered up in order to ‘pioneer on-demand delivery of smartphones’. The Xiaomi Mi Note was actually announced in Singapore and Malaysia, and along with that announcement, the Uber partnership was unveiled as well, which was completely unexpected. The Mi Note, as you probably already know, is a high-end phablet Xiaomi originally announced back in January. This handset sports a 5.7-inch 1080p display, 3GB of RAM and is powered by the Snapdragon 801 SoC. If you’d like to know more about the device, follow this link.

So, how will this delivery service work? Well, pretty much the same way as the regular Uber calling process works. Users will be able to open the Uber app and use the slider at the bottom of the display in order to select ‘Xiaomi’ option. This will show you Xiaomi-orange colored Uber cars on the map equipped to deliver the Mi Note your way. All you have to do at this point is pick one and hit ‘Request’. The payment will be charged to your credit card which is connected with your Uber account, and you’ll get the device within a few minutes.

Another thing worth mentioning here is the fact that Uber riders in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur will actually be able to order the Mi Note on demand through an exclusive pre-sale before anyone else. This pre-launch flash sale will be available on July 27, which is one day before the smartphone gets listed on Mi.com. Xiaomi and Uber have also said that they plan to expand the availability of such service, and considering Uber’s global network in 58, this service could become really interesting really fast.

‘”We’re thrilled to bring the amazing Mi Note to consumers across Singapore and Kuala Lumpur through this pioneering partnership with Xiaomi. The power of the on-demand economy is transforming the consumer experience and we are excited to take this to another level in Southeast Asia,” said Mike Brown, Uber’s Regional General Manager of Southeast Asia, New Zealand and Australia. General Manager of Xiaomi Southeast Asia added the following: “We are truly excited to bring Mi Note, Xiaomi’s most beautifully designed flagship, to Singapore and Malaysia. Partnering with Uber for a pre-launch flash sale means Mi fans can get their hands on the new Mi Note faster than ever before, and in an innovative and convenient way.”
